David A. Shekhter is a first generation Florida Native. His parents immigrated from the Soviet Union in 1979 and he was born two months later in Daytona Beach. With Russian being the primary language in his home growing up, David also speaks fluent Russian. After earning an Associates degree at Daytona State College, David attended Florida International University in Miami Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a minor in Economics. He then went on to Stetson College of law and was a proud member of the very prestigious and award winning Trial Team. In 2005, David began in private practice handling criminal and traffic defense, immigration law, and family law. In 2011 David Shekhter joined the law firm of Politis & Matovina and now focuses on Personal Injury & Criminal Defense. His vast experience handling traffic related matters is a major asset to the firm that specializes in accident cases. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, playing ice hockey and wakeboarding. Mr. Shekhter is a member of the Florida Justice Association, the Volusia Civil trial Attorneys Association, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and he has received the preeminent “AV” rating from Martindale Hubble for his excellence in legal ability and ethical standards.
